Andy Pettitte pitched effectively with the rest three days, and Hideki Matsui was the star that hits the New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 Wednesday night to win the 2009 World Series four games two.Pettitte premium on pitching in the sixth inning, allowing three runs. Matsui was the big bat, driving in six of seven starts the Yankees scored in the game.

The Yankees chased starter and loser Pedro Martinez early as they took a 2-0 lead they would never relinquish. The Yankees finished off Martinez and built a 7-1 lead before Ryan Howard hit a two run homer off Pettitte but the New York bullpen saved the day for the winners.
