veterans day thank you

veterans day thank you

Today is Veterans Day, which was formerly known as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of the Second World War in 1954, the day was canceled, and was renamed Veterans Day to honor all veterans of the U.S. wars.We as a nation, tend to forget about this crucial holiday. Without these days difference, we would not have any of the freedoms that we so appreciate - and not be a big part of the world.

Who knows, without the courage of the American veterans, Europe still might be shrouded under the Nazi flag. Perhaps our own country still might be split in half, North and South. Even more sobering, we might not even have our own nation and still be under the rule of a king had it not been for the fighting men of the Revolutionary War.

Like a hawk or a pacifist should honor all the sacrifices our armed forces have been in this country, both in peacetime and in war, even if it was unfair to the military action, which my friends "liberal" is always quick to point out. Blame the leadership of the time, if need be, but the honor of men and women who gave the service, and in many cases also lives. It sounds weird, but a nation, and much of the world (mainly France), owe much to the U.S. veterans.
