Remnants of Hurricane Ida forcing several closures and delays in the mid-Atlantic today, especially the eastern coast of Virginia. Newport News Public Schools will hold classes as usual today (much to the shock of thousands of children and parents googling this morning.) Centura College, however, is closed. Here is a list of some other areas of school closure information from daily newspapers:

The cancellation notice at ODU includes its classes at the Peninsula, Tri-Cities and Virginia Beach Higher Education Centers. All campus offices will be closed. Essential personnel were asked to consult with their supervisors about whether they need to report to work. All classes at Old Dominion University, Norfolk State University, Virginia Wesleyan College and Tidewater Community College have been canceled for today due to the inclement weather.
